The Folkestone Early Years Resource Project (FEYRP) is known in Folkestone, Shepway and beyond as B 4 8s: it was initially set up (in 1996) to provide information on pre-school facilities, to enable parents to undertake employment, training and/or leisure activities, and to assist in the development of parenting skills. It continues to occupy a highly-visible town centre site and to evolve in accordance with the needs of its clientele and its community.

During the ten years since the B 4 8s Centre opened, thousands of enquiries over a wide range of family, parental and childrens issues have been dealt with by the staff in a welcoming, helpful and non-judgmental manner. There is an ever-increasing need, in Folkestone and further afield, for the parents and carers of young children to find such user-friendly access to information, advice, advocacy, counselling and support services.
